SUBJECT

Gong Warning Without Visual Check Control Message

SITUATION

An implausible gong warning sounds approximately 10-15 seconds after the engine is started. There is no Check Control warning in the Instrument Cluster and no faults are stored.

CAUSE

Faulty center lock button (permanently closed contacts)

CORRECTION

In the case of a customer complaint, test the functionality of the center lock button and replace as necessary.
