REAR WINDOW FUNCTIONALITY PROBLEMS
TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
| BMW: | E60 (5 Series) produced between 2/2008 and 4/2008 |
| GROUP: | General Electrical Systems |
SUBJECT
Rear Window Functionality Problems
SITUATION
One or more of the following situations may be present:
- A window anti-trap check control message may occur.
- The rear window anti-trap protection may activate when no obstruction is present.
- The rear windows may have lost initialization, and thus the 1-touch feature.
- Fault code A41F or A44F may be stored in the Body Base Module (KBM).
CAUSE
A semiconductor problem within the KBM causes the amperage draw at the rear window motors to be calculated incorrectly.
The KBM interprets this amperage draw as the windows encountering an obstruction, and therefore the anti-trap protection is activated.
PROCEDURE
Replace the KBM with the most recent part per Repair Instruction RA 61 35 125.
