Overview of functions

Combined the electrical machine electronics (EME) performs the following functions:

• Control of the internal components via the EME control unit
• Supply of the 12 V vehicle electrical system via the DC/DC converter
• Control of the electrical machine (speed, torque) with the help of the inverter
• Contact of the electrical machine via the bus bars
• Contact of the high-voltage battery
• Contact of the convenience charging electronics
• Contact of the electric A/C compressor
• Contact of the electric auxiliary heater
• Communication with other control units, especially the Electrical Digital Motor Electronics (EDME)
• Cooling of the electrical machine electronics
• Activation of the electromechanical parking lock
• Activation of electric vacuum pump
• Active and passive discharge of the link capacitor to a voltage below 60 volts
• Active evaluation of the signals for the high-voltage interlock loop
• Self-test and diagnostic function
