Window Switch Operation

When the ignition switch is in RUN, battery voltage is applied to the window switches through circuit breaker 24 and the Pink wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . When the UP switch in the window switch is operated, battery voltage is applied to the Dark Blue wire to the window motor. The motor is grounded through the Brown wire, the down contact in the left master switch assembly. The motor runs to drive the window up. When the down switch in the window switch is operated, battery voltage is applied to the window motor in the opposite direction. The power window motor is ground through the UP contact in the window switch and the UP contact in the left master switch assembly. The motor runs to drive the window down.

Each motor is protected by a built in electronic circuit breaker. If a window switch is held too long with the window obstructed or after the window is fully up or down, the circuit breaker has a positive temperature coefficient and resets automatically when voltage is removed from the motor.
