Oil Pressure Indicator Test
- If oil pressure indicator does not illuminate with ignition switch in RUN position and engine off, disconnect oil pressure switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure ground is present at terminal "B" of module connector. If ground is not present at terminal "B", check wiring.
- If ground is present, using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at terminal "A" of connector. See Figure -9. If battery voltage is not present, check wire and bulb. If wire and bulb are okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- If battery voltage is present, jumper terminals "A" and "B" using a fused jumper wire. Oil pressure indicator should illuminate. If indicator does not illuminate, check wiring for high resistance. If wiring is okay, replace oil pressure switch. If indicator illuminates, check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. If pressure is okay, replace oil pressure switch.
