Engine Cranks But Does Not Start

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect decoder module connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between decoder module harness connector terminal A3 (Dark Blue wire) and ground.
  2. If voltage is not about 5 volts, check circuit and connections between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and decoder module for an open or short to ground. If circuit is okay, replace PCM.
  3. If voltage is about 5 volts, turn ignition off. Reconnect decoder module. Turn ignition on and measure voltage between decoder module terminal A3 (Dark Blue wire) and ground.
  4. If about 2.5 volts are present, PASS-Key II(R) system is operating correctly. If about 2.5 volts are not present, check connector terminal contact. If connector terminal contact is okay, replace decoder module. See PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
