Oil Pressure Indicator Test

  1. If oil pressure indicator remains illuminated with engine running, disconnect fuel pump/oil pressure sender. If indicator turns off, replace sender. If indicator remains illuminated, check Tan wire for short to ground. Check printed circuit for short circuit. Ensure printed circuit mates correctly with its connectors.
  2. If oil pressure indicator does not illuminate before engine starts, and bulb is okay, measure resistance between fuel pump/oil pressure sender and ground. If resistance is approximately one ohm, check Tan wire for open circuit.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal "A" (Tan wire) of fuel pump/oil pressure sender connector and ground. If indicator illuminates, replace sender. If indicator does not illuminate, repair IPC. Ensure printed circuit has no cracks or flaws, and mates correctly with its connector.
