Diagnostic System Check

  1. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. Security indicator should illuminate for 5 seconds, then turn off. If security indicator stays on, go to TEST NO 1  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If security indicator illuminates for 5 seconds, then flashes, go to TEST NO 2  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If security indicator does not illuminate, see INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
  2. Ensure transaxle is in Park. Turn ignition switch to START position. Engine should start and security indicator should illuminate for 5 seconds, then turn off. If security indicator stays illuminated, go to TEST NO 1  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If security indicator illuminates for 5 seconds, then flashes (engine may or may not start), go to TEST NO 2  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If security indicator illuminates for 5 seconds, then turns off and engine does not start, go to TEST NO 3  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If security indicator does not illuminate, see INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
