Outside Mirror Does Not Operate

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select Driver Door Module (DDM) inputs. Move mirror select switch. If scan tool displays appropriate switch activity (LEFT or RIGHT), go to next step. If scan tool does not display appropriate switch activity, go to step 4).
  2. Move mirror position switches for each mirror. If scan tool displays appropriate switch activity (UP, DOWN, LEFT or RIGHT), go to next step. If scan tool does not display appropriate switch activity, go to step 4).
  3. Disconnect inoperative mirror connector. If testing left/right motor, use DVOM to check voltage between DDM connector C4, (component-side) terminals "A" (Light Blue wire) and "E" (White wire). If testing up/down motor, use DVOM to check voltage between DDM connector C4, (component-side) terminals "B" (Yellow wire) and "F" (Light Green). Move mirror switches in appropriate directions. If 9-15 volts exists, go to step 6). If 9-15 volts does not exist, go to step 5).
  4. Replace mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  5. Replace DDM. Recheck system operation.
  6. Replace inoperative mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
