DTC B1656: EEPROM Write Error: Testing

  1. If SBM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If SBM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to STANDARD BODY MODULE (SBM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Replace SBM. See STANDARD BODY MODULE (SBM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram SBM. See PROGRAMMING SBM  . Recheck system operation. Go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reinstall all components. Clear DTCs. Go to STANDARD BODY MODULE (SBM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
