DTC B3106: RFA Link Parity Error: Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Using keyless entry transmitter, individually push lock, unlock and panic buttons. If these functions operate properly, go to next step. If these functions do not operate properly, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Using keyless entry transmitter, individually push lock, unlock and panic buttons. Check for DTCs. If DTC B3106 is set, go to step  5 . If DTC B3106 is not set, go to step  11 .
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM connectors. Using DVOM, check voltage between BCM Pink 32-pin harness connector C1 terminal C15 (Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See Figure . If reading is less than 8 volts, go to next step. If reading is greater than 8 volts, go to step  6 .
  5. Disconnect RCDLR. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Using DVOM, check resistance between BCM harness connector C1 terminal C15 (Black wire) and RCDLR harness connector terminal "E" (Black wire). If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to step  9 . If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, go to step  10 .
  6. Reconnect BCM connectors. Using power door lock switch, unlock and lock doors. If doors unlock and lock, go to step  9 . If doors do not unlock and lock, go to next step.
  7. If DTC B1339, B1349, B3127, B3128, B3102 or B3103 are also set, go to appropriate DTC test first. If these DTCs are not set, go to next step.
  8. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram BCM. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. Go to step  12 .
  9. Replace RCDLR. Go to step  12 .
  10. Repair poor connection or open in Black wire between BCM connector C1 and RCDLR. Go to step  12 .
  11. System is operating properly at this time. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . After any repairs are made, go to next step.
  12. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If any DTCs are current, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. If no DTCs are current, system is operating properly.
