Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  2. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT - SHEET METAL DIAGONAL in Body Front End.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable.

  4. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).
  5. Remove the battery hold down retainer (2).

    Important:  Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.

  6. Remove the battery (3).

  7. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.
