Memory Functions

Driver's Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) receives signals from memory function switch. DDSA then sends a message through simple bus interface to Driver Door Module (DDM) indicating that a memory function signal has been received. DDM then sends a message to Memory Seat Module (MSM) through class 2 serial data line. Current seat position may be recorded for 2 different drivers. To record a position, adjust drivers seat, including lumbar adjustments, and both outside mirrors to a comfortable position, then press and hold memory button No. 1 for 5 seconds, a double beep will sound each time a memory position is set. A second mirror and seating position may be programmed by repeating above steps and pressing button No. 2. When MSM receives a memory set message, MSM records feedback voltages from position sensors for appropriate driver. Easy exit position is programmed by moving seat to desired exit position and then holding EXIT button for 5 seconds. Two exit positions can be programmed, one for each driver. When MSM receives a set easy exit message, MSM records feedback voltages from 3 seat position sensors and recline position sensor for appropriate driver. The lumbar is not involved in easy exit function. When memory button No. 1 or 2 is pressed, a single chime is sounded through radio to acknowledge signal and MSM receives memory recall message. MSM then applies battery voltage to motors until position sensor feedback voltages equal feedback voltages stored in memory for appropriate driver. When EXIT button is pressed, a single chime is sounded to acknowledge signal and MSM receives easy exit message. MSM then applies battery voltage to seat motors until position sensor feedback voltages equal feedback voltages stored in memory for appropriate driver. Memory recall will not work if shift lever is out of Neutral or Park.
