Lumbar Support System
The lumbar adjuster relays control battery positive voltage supply to lumbar support motors. Each lumbar support motor is controlled by relay with 2 sets of coils and contacts. When relay coils are de-energized, relay contacts are closed to ground. Battery positive voltage is supplied to lumbar adjuster switch and is used to energize lumbar adjuster relay coils. When a lumbar adjuster switch is pressed, voltage is supplied through control circuit to relay coil. Only one relay coil within a lumbar adjuster relay may be energized at any given time. Energized side of lumbar adjuster relay provides battery positive voltage to lumbar support motor supply circuit. Lumbar adjuster motor ground is provided through supply circuit to de-energized side of lumbar adjuster relay. Lumbar adjuster motors are reversible and direction of motor rotation is determined by which supply circuit is provided battery positive voltage and which remains grounded.
Power lumbar support system consists of the following components:
- Lumbar adjuster switch.
- In/out lumbar adjuster relay.
- In/out lumbar support motor.
- Up/down lumbar adjuster relay.
- Up/down lumbar support motor.
- H SEAT LUM fuse (15-amp).
- SEAT circuit breaker (30-amp).
