Installation Procedure

  1. Insert the run channel into the door through the rear access hole.
  2. Slide the run channel up along the window, ensuring that the upper bracket is under the door frame applique.
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  3. Install the lower fastener (2). Tighten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 in lbs). See Figure.
  4. Lower the window to the full down position.
  5. Pull out enough of the lower rear edge of the window seal in order to install the upper fastener in the run channel and door applique.
  6. Ensure that the window channel bracket is under the door applique.
  7. Install the upper fastener. Tighten the fastener to 2 N.m (18 in lbs).
NOTE: When reusing the window weatherstrip, the flange mounting area (1) must be pinched together in order to counteract the splaying effect when removed. Use a thumb and an index finger in order to pinch the carrier (2) back together. Work from one end of the weatherstrip to the other.
