Installation Procedure

  1. If necessary, install the trim cover protector (1) to the lower trim cover (2).
  2. Install the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement .

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the upper trim cover (2) and secure by using the TORX® head screw (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  4. Install the lower trim cover (1) and secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  5. Install the tilt lever assembly. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement .
  6. Install the steering wheel onto the column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
