Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator rear brace.
  2. Install the generator rear brace bolt (1).
  3. Install the generator rear brace nut (2).
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Tighten the generator bolts in the order described. The following is a mandatory torque sequence:

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the generator rear brace bolt (1) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the generator rear brace nut (2) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (L36) or Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (L67) Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  6. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L67) Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
