Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7) .
  2. Remove the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .

  3. Remove the air cleaner upper cover bolts and the upper cover.
  4. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
    5. IMPORTANT: Do not disconnect the transmission control module (TCM) electrical connector.
  5. Remove and reposition the TCM with the wiring harness in order to gain access.

  6. Remove the air cleaner bolts and the air cleaner with the MAF sensor.
