Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the battery hold down and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the vent tube is properly routed through the floor pan grommet.
    IMPORTANT: Replacement batteries may require the vent plug in the battery vent hole to be moved from one end of the battery to the other to permit vent tube installation per original design.
  3. Install the battery vent tube to the battery.

  4. Position the positive battery cable (2) to the battery.
  5. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  6. Snap the positive battery cable cover (3) closed.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
