SRS Unit Replacement: Installation

  1. Install the SRS unit (A) with a new TORX bolts (B), then connect the connectors (C) to the SRS unit; push them into position until they click (see WATER PROOF CONNECTORS FOR SRS SYSTEM  ).
    NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against its bracket before torquing the TORX bolts.

  2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
  3. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit (see SRS UNIT UPDATE ).
  4. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization (see FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSOR INITIALIZATION  ).
  5. Do the ODS unit operation check (see ODS UNIT OPERATION CHECK  ).
  6. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
  7. Reinstall all removed parts.
