Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator (1) to the vehicle as shown in the graphic.

  2. Turn the generator (3) as shown in the graphic.
  3. Install the generator and power steering pump bracket (1).
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 3 generator and power steering pump bracket bolts (2) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  5. Turn the generator (3) back in normal position to the engine.
  6. Install the 2 generator bolts (2) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  7. Install the generator nut (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  8. Connect the generator wiring harness plug (1) to the generator.
  9. Install the generator positive cable retaining (2) and the generator positive cable nut (3). Tighten the nut to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
  10. Fold the generator cap (4) to the generator positive cable terminal.
  11. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  12. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  13. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
