Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

  4. Fold the generator cap (4) aside.
  5. Remove the generator positive cable retaining nut (3) and the generator positive cable (2).
  6. Disconnect the generator wiring harness plug (1) from the generator.

  7. Remove the generator nut (1) and the 2 generator bolts (2).
  8. Remove the generator (3) from the engine.

  9. Turn the generator (3) as shown in the graphic.
  10. Remove the 3 generator and power steering pump bracket bolts (2).
  11. Remove the generator and power steering pump bracket (1).

  12. Turn the generator (1) back in normal position and remove the generator from vehicle as shown in the graphic.
