Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the battery positive cable at the battery fuse block. Refer to Battery Positive and Negative Cable Replacement (LTG) or Battery Positive and Negative Cable Replacement (LEA, LUK) .
1 Battery Positive Cable Clamp Fastener
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
4.7 N.m (3.5 lb in)
2 Front Compartment Fuse Block Positive Cable and Engine Power Supply Cable Nut
Tighten 
12 N.m (106 lb in)
3 Battery Fuse Block Cover
4 Fuse Block Wiring Harness Terminal Fasteners (Qty:2)
Tighten 
4.7 N.m (3.5 lb in)
5 Body Harness Wiring Harness Terminals (Qty:2)
6 Front Compartment Fuse Block Battery Positive Cable
7 Battery Retainer Hold Down Strap
8 Battery Fuse Block Retaining Tabs (Qty:2)
9 Battery Fuse Block

Procedure

  1. Remove the battery fuse block cover.
  2. Remove the battery positive cable clamp fastener.
  3. Remove the battery positive cable from the battery fuse block.
  4. Remove the front compartment fuse block battery positive cable.
  5. Remove the body harness terminals from the battery fuse block.
  6. Release the battery hold down strap from the battery positive post.
  7. Unclip the battery fuse block retaining tabs and remove the battery fuse block.
