Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the water pump (3) into position with a NEW water pump seal (4) and hand tighten the bolts.
  2. Tighten (1) bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  3. Tighten (2) bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the thermostat bypass pipe (2) to the water pump with a NEW gasket (3) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the engine wiring harness retainer (1) to the water pump (2).

  6. Using the BO-38185 hose clamp pliers, install the radiator outlet hose (1) to the water outlet (2).
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LTG)Drive Belt Replacement (LCV) .
  8. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LCV)Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement .
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) .
  10. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
