Installation Procedure

  1. GM2838107

    Install the clutch master cylinder (2) into the brake pedal assembly.

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the 2 clutch master cylinder mount fasteners (1) and tighten to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

    NOTE:

    An audible click will be heard when the clip is correctly seated.

    Connect the push rod retainer (1) to the clutch pedal.

  4. Install the brake pedal assembly. Refer to Brake, Accelerator, and Clutch Pedal Replacement .

    Connect the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (2) to the clutch master cylinder.

  6. Install the retaining clip (1).
  7. Install the clutch master cylinder reservoir hose (3) to the master cylinder. Refer to Clutch Master Cylinder Reservoir Hose Replacement .
  8. GM2837865

    Install the 3 BPMV bracket assembly nuts (2) to the vehicle and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  9. Install the clutch actuator cylinder pipe retainer (1).
  10. GM2838103

    Clip the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (2) into the 2 retainers (1).

  11. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch System Bleeding .
  12. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  13. Fill the reservoir with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container up to the MAX level.
