Removal Procedure

Disconnect the battery negative cable. BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION AND CONNECTION (3.6L LGX)
Remove the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Replacement

Disconnect the electrical connector:
1. Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module(2)
2. Fuel Pressure Sensor(3)
Fuel Tank Vent Pipe(1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Fuel Feed Pipe - Fuel Pump Module to Underbody(4) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

NOTE:
Do NOT use impact tools. Significant force will be required to release the lock ring.The use of a hammer and screwdriver is not recommended. Secure the fuel tank in order to prevent fuel tank rotation.

Fuel Pump Lock Ring(1) - Remove - Use the special tool: CH-45722 Fuel Sender Lock Ring Wrench (2)

Lift gently the fuel tank fuel pump module (1) until the fuel pump vent pipe (3) is accessible.
Fuel Tank Vent Pipe(3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Disconnect the electrical connector.(2)

Lift gently the fuel tank fuel pump module until the fuel sender (1) is accessible.

Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module(1) - Remove
O-Ring(2) - Remove and DISCARD
