Removal Procedure
When performing any service on or around the passenger airbag module or instrument panel, ensure that the module and panel are not disturbed or damaged in any way. Do not remove the module from the panel under any circumstances. If a service cannot be completed without removing the module from the panel, the module and panel must be removed together and each be replaced. The new module must be assembled into the new panel and its position verified. Failure to observe these steps may result in a nonfunctional or unwanted airbag deployment, which may injure you or others.

- NOTE:
Do not mistake the forward collision alert display bezel with the head up display bezel. The HUD bezel can not be removed from the instrument panel. It is part of the instrument panel and must not be removed.

- NOTE:
Do NOT remove the steering wheel from the steering column and do NOT disconnect the steering column from the steering intermediate shaft.
Steering Column Nut (1) - Loosen - Steering Column Replacement
Heater and Air Conditioning User Interface Control (2) - Remove - Heater and Air Conditioning User Interface Control Replacement
Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Instrument Panel Bolt (1) - Remove [14x]
Note the location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness, to ensure proper reinstallation.
- Disconnect the fasteners securing the instrument panel wiring harness to the instrument panel (1) and position out of the way.
- With the aid of an assistant lift the instrument panel (1) from the tie bar.
- Instrument Panel (1) - Remove
- Transfer components as necessary.
