Installation Procedure

  1. Fill the transfer case with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    Install a NEW fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  3. Install the power transfer unit heat shield to the transmission. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement 
  4. Lower the vehicle.
