Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.

    NOTE:

    Ensure the fuel rail threads are clean and free of any excess fuel, or the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.

    2. NOTE:

    Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.

  2. Install the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (2) and hand tighten.
  3. Remove the fuel injection fuel rail pressure sensor (2) from the fuel injection fuel rail (3) and re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (3) - Install and Tighten 32.5 N.m (24 lb ft)
  5. Electrical Connector (1) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) - Connect
  6. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Install - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement 
    7. NOTE:

    If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel rail, the fuel rail will need to be replaced.

  7. Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
