Temperature Dial
To adjust rear temperature dial proceed as follows:
- Using masking tape, suspend a thermometer from head-liner so that bulb hangs at breath level over front passenger's seat and suspend a second thermometer at breath level between the rear roof outlets.
- Position an auxiliary fan (24-inch blades) so that air stream is directed across air intake grille, close all doors and windows and set both front temperature dial and rear temperature dial to 75°F. Start engine and run at 900 RPM.
- Make certain that all air conditioner outlets are open and adjust these outlets as follows:
- Front unit side outlets so that air is directed toward doors.
- Front unit center outlet so air is directed to top of front seat.
- Rear roof outlet diverter doors should be opened.
CAUTION: Outlet air must not be directed toward thermometers. - Allow systems to operate for 25 minutes for stabilization and record readings from suspended thermometers.
- If thermometers vary from the 75°F settings insert Temperature Dial Adjuster, J-21530 between temperature dial and casting and turn dials to coincide with the thermometer nearest the dial being adjusted.
