Hard Trouble Code E16: Notes

NOTE: If this code is not displayed during second pass of diagnostic codes, it is an intermittent failure and cannot be diagnosed using this procedure.

Trouble code indicates that generator output voltage is either above or below specification with engine running. The ECM monitors generator voltage indirectly by checking voltage on fuel pump feedback input (circuit No. 120).

NOTE: The following step numbers refer to the numbers in the accompanying flow chart(s).

With engine running, check voltage on fuel pump fuse. If voltage is between 10.5 and 15.5 volts, then ECM connector or ECM itself is at fault. If voltage is less than 10.5 volts or greater than 15.5 volts with engine running, service generator.
