Trouble Code E.7.7
Cruise control "RESUME/ACCEL" switch sends 12 volt signal to ECM when "RESUME/ACCEL" switch is depressed.
NOTE:
The following step numbers refer to the numbers in the accompanying flow chart(s).
- Code indicates that ECM is not receiving 12 volt signal from "RESUME/ACCEL" switch when it is depressed. Rerun switch test. To begin diagnosis, turn ignition on and cruise enable switch on. Connect voltmeter (J-29125) between pin E of Orange ECM connector and ground.
- If voltage on pin E reads 12 volts, disconnect Orange ECM connector and measure voltage on pin E again. If voltage reads 12 volts, check circuit No. 87 for short to voltage. If circuit No. 87 is okay, replace "RESUME/ACCEL" switch. If voltage on pin E is 0 volts, check for faulty ECM connector or faulty ECM.
- While depressing "RESUME/ACCEL" switch, measure voltage on pin E of Orange ECM connector again. If voltage is 0 volts, check circuit No. 87 for an open or short to ground and circuit 397 for an open. If circuit Nos. 87 and 397 are okay, replace "RESUME/ACCEL" switch. If voltage on pin E is 12 volts, then check for faulty ECM connector or faulty ECM because is is not processing 12 volt signal.
