Snapshot On Code Set
A new feature on the Self-Diagnostic System has been added to help diagnose intermittent conditions. This feature, called "Snapshot on Code Set", captures all parameter values whenever a trouble code sets. The ECM will store information for the most recent code that sets. The code number that is associated with the data is displayed upon entry into the "Snapshot on Code Set" display mode. The following is a general procedure that should be used as a guide for verifying a failure condition using the snapshot information in the ECM:
- Enter snapshot mode.
- Look at first parameter to find out what code is associated with the stored information.
- Review the parameter(s) that are related to that code to verify the failure condition. If a Code EO15 is stored, review ED04 and look for a reading of -38 or less.
- If the condition is verified, inspect wiring and connectors for loose, dirty, or poorly seated connections. If no trouble is found, substitute a known good sensor and retest.
