TEST Activation Button
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Cadillac Allante. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The TEST button is used to activate valve tests. The TEST button includes a timer mechanism which allows a test to continue for a maximum of 15 seconds. If the button is held for more than 15 seconds, the test will automatically stop. To reset the timer, release and re-apply the TEST button.
If any of the tests involving the TEST button are repeated several times in rapid succession, the heat sink at the top of the tester may become warm to the touch. If the heat sink gets warm, allow the tester to cool off before repeating the test again. These tests include ABS and TCS valve actuation and replenishing valve test.
