BCM DTC B336: Loss Of IPC Serial Data: Description

Code B336 will set if the ignition is on and the BCM loses data communication with the IPC. The problem is a result of a +7 volt power or ground fault to the IPC, or a double open circuit in the data communication line between the IPC and the BCM. If this occurs, the cruise control will disengage (if on) and the headlamps (if on) will be on low beams.

NOTE: For circuit identification, see Figure .

BCM DTC B336 indicates a loss of data communication between the IPC and the BCM. When this occurs, if the IPC is digital, it will display incorrect odometer information. If this occurs with an analog cluster, the volts gauge will remain at the far left (8 volt) position with the ignition on. Possible causes of this code are:

When all diagnosis and repairs are completed, clear codes and verify proper operation.
