Failure Conditions
The EBCM performs 2 basic types of checks on the wheel speed sensors, these are sensor continuity and sensor output.
Any condition which would result in lack of continuity on the right front wheel speed sensor circuit could result in setting Code 25. These conditions include an open in CKT's 830 or 873 or an open across the sensor coil. A short to voltage on a wheel speed sensor line will also generate this type of failure.
Code 25 will also set if low output from the wheel speed sensor is detected by the EBCM. These conditions include a short to ground on CKT 873, a shorted sensor coil, an improperly installed sensor or missing toothed sensor ring. A damaged sensor ring will also cause Code 25 to set.
Intermittent setting of speed sensor error codes may be caused by improperly mounted sensors and cables. Verify that the sensor is mounted correctly and the sensor face does not contain an accumulation of metallic particles, dirt or grease. Verify that sensor cables are properly routed and secure.
