Pump/Motor Assembly Components: Removal
- Depressurize hydraulic accumulator by pumping brake pedal a minimum of 25 times.
- Remove air intake duct clamps at air cleaner and throttle body. Remove duct from car.
- Disconnect pump motor connector. See Figure .
- Remove pressure hose fitting (banjo bolt) . Take care not to drop either of the 2 washers used to seal the pressure hose fitting to the pump inlet.
- Remove pressure and return hose fittings from pump. Position return hose (reservoir to pump) so as to prevent fluid loss from the reservoir.
- Loosen pump mounting nut at rear of pump and remove pump from bracket. Inspect mounting insulators for cracks, chafing, cuts or damage. Replace any cut or damaged insulators.
