DTC B333: Loss Of DERM Data: Description

Code B333 will set if the ignition is ON and the BCM is not able to exchange data with the DERM (if any other communication codes are stored along with B333. See MULTIPLE INTERMITTENT CODES  . When this is the only communication code stored, the problem must be one of the following:

• An open CKT 800 between the IPC and DERM and a second open between the PCM and DERM.
• An open or short in the DERM power or ground circuit.
• A faulty DERM.

During the time the failure is present, no DERM diagnostic information will be available for display. Also, while in the service diagnostic mode, this code will remain active, always checking for proper operation. The SERVICE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT message will be displayed on the DIC.
