Preliminary Test

  1. Start engine and idle for 2 minutes. Turn engine off. This ensures sufficient vacuum is available for test. DO NOT delay continuing procedure or vacuum will slowly be depleted. Turn ignition on. Place cruise control slider switch in ON position.
  2. Turn ignition on. Enter PCM diagnostics by holding CCP OFF and WARMER buttons down simultaneously until all segments of Fuel Data Center (FDC) display panel illuminate. See Figure .
  3. Display should show ".7.0". Press HI blower button once. Display should show "E.9.5". Press ECON and WARMER buttons simultaneously. Display should show "E.5.0". Cycle through tests by pressing HI or LO blower buttons until display shows "E.5.7".
  4. PCM is now in servo override mode. Press COOLER button once so override value is 99 percent. Observe servo position. Go to appropriate test depending on how servo responds.
