PASS-Key II(R) System Check
- Check for Central Control Module (CCM) Codes 30, 31, 32, 33, 42, and 43. If codes are present, see appropriate CENTRAL CONTROL MODULE article. Check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) codes. If codes are present, see TESTS W/CODES article. If no codes are present, go to next step.
- Attempt to start engine. If engine cranks, but will not start, see TESTS W/CODES article. If engine cranks and starts, see TROUBLE SHOOTING. If engine does not crank, check PASS KEY FAULT indicator with ignition on. If PASS KEY FAULT indicator illuminates for 3 minutes after attempting to start engine, see PASS KEY FAULT INDICATOR REMAINS ON FOR 3 MINUTES, ENGINE WILL NOT START.
- If PASS KEY FAULT indicator illuminates for 5 seconds and then goes out after attempting to start engine, remove theft deterrent relay from relay connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between theft deterrent relay connector terminals No. 30 (Red wire) and 87 (Yellow wire). Attempt to start engine. If engine does not crank, see ENGINE DOES NOT CRANK. If engine cranks, see ENGINE CRANKS WITH THEFT DETERRENT RELAY BY-PASSED.
