- Perform CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK . Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select BODY CONTROL MODULE. Select INPUTS. Select DOOR JAMB SW. Close all doors. If scan tool displays OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display OFF, go to step 3).
- Using scan tool, check door switches for intermittent malfunction by monitoring scan tool while opening and closing each door several times. If door switches are good, check wiring for possible short to chassis ground. If a problem was found, repair intermittent malfunction as necessary and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK . If no problem was found, go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Brown 24-pin C1 connector. See Figure . Remove left front door jamb switch. Using DVOM, check for short to chassis ground in Gray wire between connector C1, terminal B02 and driver's door jamb switch connector terminal No. 2. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK .
- Check door jamb switch mounting screw for a clean and tight connection. If connection is okay, replace door jamb switch and go to next step.
- Observe scan tool. If scan tool still displays ON, repeat step 3) with other three door jamb switches. If a problem was found with any other door jamb switch, repair as necessary and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK. If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Ensure trunk lid is closed. Using scan tool, select TRUNK JAMB SW. If scan tool displays OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display OFF, go to step 8).
- Using scan tool, check trunk jamb switch for possible intermittent malfunction while opening and closing trunk several times. If no problem was found, check wiring for an intermittent short to chassis ground. If a problem was found, repair intermittent malfunction and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK . If no problem was found, go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK.
- Remove trunk light switch. If scan tool displays OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display OFF, go to step 10).
- Check trunk lamp switch mounting screw for a clean and tight connection. If connection is good, replace trunk lamp switch and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK .
- Disconnect BCM Brown 32-pin connector C2. See Figure . Using DVOM, check for a short to chassis ground in Brown/White wire between BCM connector C2, terminal D07 and trunk light switch. If no problem was found, replace rear compartment light switch and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK . If a problem was found, repair short to chassis ground in Brown/White wire between BCM connector C2, terminal D07 and trunk light switch and go to CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CHECK .
