DTC B1007: EEPROM Write Error: Description

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module performs internal tests on EEPROM each time RKE module performs a write function to a memory address in EEPROM. RKE module reads back data that has been written and compares to data. If data does not match after 3 consecutive write and verify attempts. RKE module will indicate a write malfunction is current.

DTC B1007 will set and store in RKE memory when data read back after a write does not match data being written 3 consecutive times or RKE module detects an internal write malfunction. Condition must occur when data is being written. RKE module will store value being written in another memory address in EEPROM. No driver warning message will be displayed for this DTC.

Under all fault conditions, DTC B1007 will clear when successful write is received by RKE module, using on-board clearing DTC feature or when scan tool is used to clear codes. History DTCs will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for malfunction is no longer present.
