Cruise Control System: Description

Cruise control is a speed control system that maintains a desired vehicle speed under normal driving conditions. Steep grades may cause variations in selected speeds. System has capability to cruise, coast, resume speed, accelerate, and tap-up and tap-down.

The main components of the cruise control system include the cruise control functional switches, Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor, cruise control release switch, Engine Control Module (ECM), Throttle Position (TP) sensor, and brakelight switch. See COMPONENT LOCATOR .
