Program Number
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Cadillac Eldorado and 1999 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The program number is calculated by the A/C-Heater Programmer (ACM) to determine the amount of heating or cooling required to meet the desired in-vehicle temperature. This number is based on set temperature, outside temperature, in-vehicle temperature, and sun load sensor.
The program number determines the proper air delivery mode and blower speed, and is also a factor in determining air mix valve position. A program number of zero indicates maximum system cooling, and a program number of 255 represents maximum heating. Program number can be observed using scan tool.
