Trunk Release Inoperative With Transmitter

  1. If remote keyless entry diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If remote keyless entry diagnostic system check was not performed, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Depress instrument panel mounted rear compartment lid release switch. If rear compartment lid release functions properly, go to next step. If rear compartment lid release functions do not function properly, see POWER TRUNK & FUEL DOOR RELEASE - SEVILLE article.
  3. Check rear compartment release function with second or known good transmitter. If rear compartment lid release functions properly, go to next step. If rear compartment lid release functions do not function properly, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace faulty transmitter. After replacement, transmitter must be programmed. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES.
  5. Replace Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
