DTC B2960: Sensor Data Incorrect But Valid: Testing

  1. Perform system check. See SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. If sensor has not just been replaced, go to next step. If sensor has just been replaced, go to step  6 .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect sensor connector C201 located at base of steering column. Check resistance (backprobe) between BCM harness connector terminals A2 (Orange/Black wire) and B3 (Yellow wire). Allow reading to stabilize. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  6 .
  5. Replace Passlock(tm) sensor. See Passlock(tm) LOCK CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  6. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING  . Perform SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
