Test 17: Lumbar Support Does Not Move In/Out - Without A45

  1. Perform LUMBAR SUPPORT SYSTEM CHECK - WITHOUT A45  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Using test light connected to ground, backprobe lumbar switch connector terminal "A" (Pink wire) for left side, or terminal "A" (Pink/Black wire) for right side. See Figure . Press lumbar IN switch. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  5 .
  3. Using test light connected to ground, backprobe lumbar switch connector terminal "F" (Dark Blue wire) for left side, or terminal "F" (White wire) for right side. Press lumbar OUT switch. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  5 .
  4. Disconnect lumbar horizontal motor connector. Connect test light between lumbar horizontal motor connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire or White wire) and "B" (White wire or Pink/Black wire). Operate lumbar switch IN and OUT (backward and forward). If test light illuminates in both directions, go to step  6 . If test light does not illuminate in both directions, go to step  7 .
  5. Check lumbar switch connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step  10 . If problem is not found, go to step  8 .
  6. Check lumbar horizontal motor connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step  10 . If problem is not found, go to step  9 .
  7. Repair open in Dark Blue wire, Pink wire, White wire or Pink/Black wire between power seat switch and lumbar horizontal motor. After repairs, go to step  10 .
  8. Replace lumbar switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, go to step  10 .
  9. Replace lumbar horizontal motor. See SEAT MOTORS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, go to next step.
  10. Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, repair is complete. If system does not operate normally, return to step  2 .
