Shifter Assembly: Removal

Remove the console. See CENTER CONSOLE . Remove the rear air duct front support nuts (1). Remove the console rear support nuts (2). Remove the supports (4). See Fig 1 . Slide the air duct rearward to remove.
Disconnect the automatic transmission control electrical connector. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the shift control linkage from the shift lever. Lower the vehicle. Drill out the 5 rivets (2) attaching the control from the body. Remove the shifter assembly (1) from body. See Fig 2 .
