Vehicle Communication Unit/Vehicle Interface Unit

NOTE: OnStar(R) component parts must be installed prior to reconfiguration of OnStar(R) system.
  1. Press and hold Answer/End button on OnStar(R) button assembly. System status light should turn from solid GREEN to RED and back to GREEN.
  2. Call OnStar(R) call center and select prompt one. Give operator electronic serial number off of new Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU) or station ID number of Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU).
  3. Move vehicle outside, and allow to idle for 10 minutes.
  4. Press OnStar(R) call center button and ask for a reconfiguration.
