Description & Operation (Remote Keyless Entry): Notes

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system is a supplementary vehicle entry device. Use RKE system in conjunction with a door lock key. Radio frequencies or discharged batteries may disable system. RKE allows operation of these components: door locks, rear compartment lid release, illuminated entry lights and fuel door release. RKE system consists of these components: remote transmitters and Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). When a button is pressed on remote transmitter, transmitter sends a signal to RCDLR. RCDLR interprets signal and activates requested function through a class 2 message over serial data line.
